SKAN, the market leader for pharmaceutical isolators and HME, one of the leading Swiss integrators in the field of automation and data intelligence, announce their merger.

Allschwil and Muttenz, 01 November 2019 – After many years of successful cooperation, the companies SKAN AG and Hans Meyer Engineering AG (HME) decided to merge on 01 October 2019. The goal is to expand HME’s technological leadership position with SKAN’s worldwide network and to realize projects close to the customer. In turn, SKAN is strengthening its existing digital solutions developments through HME’s experience and technology.

Silvan Meyer, CEO of HME, will lead SKAN’s newly created digital solutions division as Chief Digital Officer. He is looking forward to the merger: “We are pleased to have found a partner in SKAN with whom we will internationally establish our leading position in the field of automation and data intelligence. For our existing customers, we will remain the reliable partner we’ve always been”. Thomas Huber, CEO of SKAN Group, also welcomes the development: “With HME’s expertise, we are able to offer our customers even more comprehensively integrated solutions in the field of aseptic processes. Our focus will especially be on the opportunities resulting from holistic digitalization and innovative data management solutions.”

HME, founded in 1974 and located in Muttenz, near Basel, Switzerland employs 30 experts for industrial automation, MES, data intelligence and IT solutions.

SKAN was founded in 1968 with headquarters in Allschwil, near Basel, Switzerland and employs approximately 800 experts for pharmaceutical process equipment, qualification and life cycle support in seven locations worldwide.
