SKAN, headquartered in Switzerland with a strong US presence, is a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry for its cleanroom equipment. This equipment is routinely used in vaccine development, production of pharmaceutical products, and other critical operations to ensure the safety and quality of pharmaceutical drugs.

Our US base is comprised of a parts business, a field service/assembly team, a microbiology team, a documentation qualification department, and a field qualification team, among other administrative functions.

The SKAN US Service Sales Manager will support the Executive Director, Service Operations & Training and the Sales Director for West Region in establishing and maintaining service sales relationships with prospective and current clients in the West region.

The position reports directly to the Executive Director, Service Operations & Training. The SKAN US Service Sales Manager is required to travel to customer locations throughout North America (primarily west region) and periodically to SKAN AG, in Basel, Switzerland. The travel requirement is estimated at 40%.

Function Specific Tasks:

  • Provide primary Service Sales coverage to promote all products and services from SKAN US LifeCycle Support (LCS) at customer accounts located in the assigned territory of Western US (Note: selected account coverage may be created based on other criteria versus geography)
  • Providing backup support to and customer/account coverage for other SKAN US Service Sales personnel as needed
  • Cultivating business relationships with clients in assigned territory
  • Creating accurate and timely quotes for parts, materials, trainings, service labor, preventive maintenance, 24/7 emergency assistance, and any upgrades
  • Provide forecasts for Service Sales to SKAN US leadership
  • Coordinating administrative duties, quotes, sales calls, seminars, meetings, and other related activities
  • Keeping detailed reports of accounts, prospective leads, proposals, purchase orders, contracts, projects in the pipeline, forecasts, C4C (CRM) updates
  • Creating actionable account penetration plans in partnership with SKAN US Regional Directors
  • Monitoring trends and conducting market research on the interest within the pharmaceutical field to identify ideal prospects and keep up with changing needs
  • Communicating pertinent information to customers, management, and the field team as needed
  • Planning and modifying product offerings, packages, and contracts to meet customer needs
  • Operating within cost budgets and quotas to achieve financial goals

Experience Needed:

  • Previous Sales quoting and proposal creation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP
  • Managing all aspects of a Service sales lifecycle

Qualifications Needed:

  • Comprehensive understanding of SKAN products and service offerings
  • Outgoing and professional with the ability to interact and converse with both external customers and internal SKAN Sales, Service, and Technical support personnel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Disciplined work ethic and time management
  • Ability to work independently and under limited supervision
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite products
  • Tenacious follow-through
