SKAN, headquartered in Switzerland with a strong US presence, is a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry for its cleanroom equipment. This equipment is routinely used in vaccine development, production of pharmaceutical products, and other critical operations to ensure the safety and quality of pharmaceutical drugs.
Our US base is comprised of a parts business, a field service/assembly team, a microbiology team, a documentation qualification department, and a field qualification team, among other administrative functions.
Function Specific Tasks:
- Manage and oversee regional sales operations, including business development, promotion and sales activities within the assigned region
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all sales matters within the key accounts and geographic territory defined in the region
- Create forecasts and design plans to meet yearly targets
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
- Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
- Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
- Utilize strategic selling strategies for major deal strategic and tactical evaluation using formal Blue Sheet/Green Sheet and similar sales tools
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
- Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
- Report on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
- Understand the competitive landscape and market trends
- Assist with the monitoring of costs, competition, and supply and demand
- Work collaboratively with the sales (including service sales) and marketing teams and fosters a culture of continuous process improvement
- Assist with the creation of proposals and review of customer URS’
- Update C4C (customer management system) weekly and monthly to ensure accurate forecasting and sales activity tracking is being performed. NOTE: Other CRM tools may also be implemented
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
- Maintain accurate client records, keeping track of any contract updates and renewals
- Attend tradeshows and company related events as directed
- Develop a thorough understanding of SKAN products and service offerings to better sell to clients
- Attend sales calls, seminars, meetings as needed to support general sales activities and those needed within the defined region
- Travel both domestically and internationally as needed to customer accounts, trade shows, trainings, etc. – average annual travel expected to be approximately 50%, but initial training and seasonal variations will likely necessitate higher levels at times
Western Region includes following states and Western Canada:
- Any state in the United States of America in which employee has performed services (including overseeing the activities of other employees) on behalf of SKAN US during the term of this Employment Agreement (or, following any termination of this Employment Agreement, the one (1) year period immediately preceding such termination); and
- The Western Region of the United States of America, which includes states of:
- Hawaii
- Alaska
- California
- Oregon
- Washington
- Arizona
- Nevada
- Idaho
- Utah
- Colorado
- New Mexico
- Wyoming
- Montana
- Western Canada including Vancouver BC, Calgary, and Edmonton
- Strategic accounts outside of western region as determined
- State/Province listing reflects current organization. Assignments may be subject to change due to regional re-alignment or reorganization
Experience Needed:
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas and receiving positive customer feedback
- Proficiency with common customer success and customer relationship management software
Qualifications Needed:
- Minimum 4 Year College Degree, preferably in engineering or science technical discipline
- Proven extensive professional experience in a sales or customer service role
- Ability to multitask and juggle several responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
