New administrative building in Görlitz Hagenwerder
The German subsidiary of the Swiss pioneer for isolators and cleanroom solutions SKAN AG near Basel was founded in Görlitz Hagenwerder in 2013 and has been growing steadily ever since. The Swiss parent company develops and builds isolators and cleanroom solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. With its machines and services SKAN accompanies its customers from research to (series) production of pharmaceuticals. Görlitz is responsible for the production of isolators and switch cabinets.
After building new factory halls in Görlitz and due to high demand SKAN has now completed a new administrative building, which is being used already. This creates additional office space and modern break and meeting rooms for more than 50 new workplaces on two floors with approximately 400m2 each.
Fortunately, until now SKAN has to a great extent been spared by the corona crisis, because isolators and cleanroom systems are in great demand right now and the pharmaceutical industry is researching new drugs and vaccines under high pressure. So far, there has been no need for short-time work. The originally planned inauguration ceremony for the new building was postponed because of the current situation. So far, 18 million euros have been invested in the expansion of the Görlitz location.
SKAN currently has around 170 employees in Germany and 900 worldwide. In addition to the location in Germany, the company that was founded in 1968 also has subsidiaries in Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, the US and Japan.
