Maintenance

H2O2 Decontamination by SKAN. Fast, Reliable and safe for rooms and surfaces of any size

Manual disinfection is time-consuming, error-prone, and often incomplete. SKAN’s automated decontamination systems provide an efficient alternative: with the push of a button, even hard-to-reach areas are reliably freed from viruses, germs, and bacteria. The results are reproducible, fully validatable, and significantly reduce downtime and operational costs.

Field of application

Versatile application: H2O2 is tailored for specific areas

  • Laboratories and offices

  • Medical practices and hospital rooms

  • Food service and hotels

  • Aseptic pharmaceutical production

  • Food processing

  • .. and many more

Frequently asked questions

  • The DEVEA Phileas® automatically calculates how much disinfection agent is needed based on the volume of the room. Disinfecting the room air and all surfaces takes just a few minutes, including areas that the eye tends to miss. The unit switches off automatically at the end of every cycle.
The fast and even distribution of the H2O2 is ensured by the wide-ranging rotating disc, it is cold and dry

  • SKAN decontamination covers a wide range of pathogens that are commonly found in our environment.

    • Bactericidal effect, e.g.: MRSA, multiresistant staphylococcus, VRE, resistant enterococci
    • Virucidal effect, e.g.: Noroviruses, Coronaviruses
    • Fungicidal effect, e.g.: Aspergillus niger
    • Sporicidal effect
  • The decontamination agent used by SKAN is “O2 Safe 7.4”. This naturally produced product has a hydrogen peroxide content of 7.4%.
The decontamination agent leaves no residues on surfaces or in the air.
The O2 Safe 7.4 contains only a small amount of water, thus avoiding negative effects such as corrosion on technical equipment.
It is also free of alcohol, aldehydes, phenols, peracetic acid and preservatives.

  • To protect the environment, doors and windows must be closed. Room ventilation systems must be switched off and fire detectors and gas sensors must be deactivated. Furniture and electronic equipment can remain in the room during the decontamination process.

  • The decontamination result can be verified and validated using biological indicators produced by SKAN. Each stainless steel carrier is inoculated with bacterial spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus.

The indicators are positioned at critical locations in the room. After an incubation period of 7 days the indicators will show whether the decontamination process has eliminated the spores.

An alternative means to check the decontamination process is to use chemical indicators, which show directly whether surfaces in the room have come into contact with enough H2O2.
