Downflow Workstation DFW

Compact and mobile pathology fume hood for safety in limited spaces

Application
Hospital & Pharmacy
Protection category
Personal protection Environmental protection
  • Standard

    COSHH

  • Filter type

    Activated carbon

The Downflow Workstation (DFW) is a cutting table with activated carbon filter, ideal for pathology, forensics, and flexible applications.

Exhaust is filtered through activated carbon or HEPA filters, enabling simple and cost-effective installation and maintenance. The system protects against vapors and particles by directing airflow through the perforated stainless steel work surface, ensuring compliance with COSHH and BS7989 regulations.

DFW at a glance

Characteristics

  • Airflow

Activated carbon–filtered exhaust reliably removes particles and odors directly at the work surface

  • Activated carbon-filtered exhaust

Cutting tables with high-performance activated carbon filters effectively capture hazardous substances

  • Compact design

Space-saving construction allows flexible placement, even in confined laboratory areas

  • Easy installation

No complex exhaust system required – reduces effort and significantly lowers costs

  • Robust work surface

Perforated stainless steel surfaces are durable, hygienic, and easy to clean

  • Intuitive operation

LCD display provides a quick overview of operational status and filter condition

  • Safe process control

Visual and acoustic alarms support monitoring and prevent operational disruptions

Requirements

Requirements that make your daily work safer and easier

  • Effective table extraction

The table extraction must capture gaseous contaminants directly at the work surface and securely bind them in the activated carbon filters. Targeted extraction ensures consistent air purity and minimizes the risk of inhalation or contamination during work.

  • Protection against contaminants and odors

Laboratory processes often generate gaseous hazards and unpleasant odors. The workspace must reliably protect operators while maintaining high air quality in the laboratory.

  • Flexible location use

The solution should be deployable independently of room layout. Location flexibility allows fast integration into existing laboratory setups and easy adaptation to changing workflow requirements.

Functional principle

Efficient low-tuburlence airflow

The low-turbulence air flow is guided inward to preventreleased particles and aerosols from leaving the working area. This guarantees personal protection.
The active carbon effectively traps solvent vapours at the source.
