HISTORY of INLAND CASH REGISTER & SKAN_Talk™

Inland Cash Register was founded in 1942.  Inland Cash Register has been writing communications software since the late seventies beginning with a DEC PDP 11 and a DTS 500 and progressing as newer technology as it evolves.

SKAN_Talk was originally written years ago as a utility for Inland and their own customers. SKAN_Talk was driven through DOS command lines and usually invoked by a backroom software package, making it completely transparent to the end user.

Popular inventory control software packages like POSITRAC, BULLS EYE, PROFITS, and PDI well known to Sharp dealers use SKAN_Talk to transparently transport Sharp ECR files into their software.  Food-Trak and Menu Link, providers of state of the art back office restaurant software have also developed an interface to SKAN_Talk.

SKAN_Talk's User Interface was added as a result of numerous requests to make SKAN_Talk available in an easy to use package that could be utilized by a broad base of users.
